Music Ministry at CUMC strives to provide an opportunity for all ages to serve by sharing God's gift of music.  Membership in one of the groups at CUMC  provides opportunities to grow in your understanding of God's presence in your life and to share your musical gifts with those in worship.

Chancel Choir - Carol Gangwer, Director/Organist

The cornerstone choir at CUMC, this choir of 25 plus leads the congregation in Sunday traditional worship, special services and concerts.  Membership is open to adults who desire to enrich their lives, as well as the lives of others through sacred choral music of all styles.  Rehearsals: Wednesday 7 to 8:30 PM;Sundays 8:50 AM

Men's Chorus - Carol Gangwer, Director

The Men's Chorus is comprised of men from Chancel Choir, Praise Team and men from the congregation who have time for only limited choir participation.  This choir provides musical leadership for Sunday traditional worship and special services.  Rehearsals: prearranged Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings

Cherub Choir - Mary Ann Sparenberg & Kim Sparenberg-Chaille, Directors

A training choir, introducing children to the joy of singing.  Songs, movement and instruments are incorporated into their learning experience.  The Cherub choir sings once per month during the traditional worship service.  Rehearsals: Wednesday 7:00 - 7:45 PM

Choristers - Anne Schummer, Director

Choir of children in grades 1-6.  Children learn how to worship God through the glory of music.  During the year they learn different church songs from traditional to contemporary which they share during the traditional worship service.  A musical production is presented in the spring in the traditional worship service.  Rehearsals: Wednesday 7:00-7:45 PM

Youth Choir - Anne Schummer, Director

Choir of youth in grades 7-12.  Singing a varied repetoire, this a fun and educational choir for those interested in vocal music.  Opportunities to sing during the traditional worship service both as a choir and along with the Chancel Choir.  Rehearsals: Sunday 4:45-5:15 PM

Adult Bells - Marcia Lucas, Director

This choir is open to college age through seniors who desire the fun and fellowship of a hand bell team and are experienced in hand bell ringing.  The choir plays the third Sunday of each month for the traditional worship service.   Rehearsals: Sunday morning 11:10 - 12:00

Youth Bells - Marcia Lucas, Director

This choir is made up of youth grades 7-12 who have had previous handbell experience and/or know how to read music.  This choir participates in the traditional worship service on the fourth Sunday of each month and in special services throughout the year.  Rehearsal: Sunday 4:15 - 4:45 PM.

Junior Bells - Anne Schummer, Director - Carolyn St. John, Assistant Director

This choir is designed for children in grades 3-6 who want to learn the basics of chime and handbell ringing.  You do not need to know how to read music to attend.  This choir participates in the traditional worship service about four times a year.  Rehearsals: Wednesday 7:45 - 8:30 PM and on alternate Sundays

Pre-Bells - Carolyn St. John, Director

This choir is designed to be an introduction of chime and handbells for grades 1 and 2.  They usually play a short introit at the beginning of the traditional worship service twice a year.  Rehearsals: as announced by director

Instrumental Music Ensemble - Cathy Klein, Director

This "in house" instrumental ensemble is comprised of all instrumentalists of CUMC.  The ensemble prepares music for the traditional worship service and special services to be used as preludes, offertories and to accompany anthems and congregational singing.  Rehearsals: as announced by director
